Which Rivet newsroom story got shared the most in June, and what was the secret to its success?
Rivet’s most-visited story (as determined by Google Analytics’ unique pageviews) for June was written and produced by reporter Vic Vaughn:
What was the secret to Vic’s success? Collaboration.
The story was sourced from a Chicago news site called The Chicago Ambassador. Vic interviewed the lawyer for the case along with the Ambassador’s Managing Editor. Once the finished piece was live on Rivet, the link was added to the Ambassador’s story page.
The Chicago Ambassador also posted the Rivet link on its Facebook page. From there, it was shared a few more times.
The lesson? In situations where you have interview guests, make sure to get them the link right away so they can share the content with their networks.
